Minimum Remuneration Notice 2082 (2025 A.D.)
On July 21, 2025, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security ("MOLESS") published a notice in the Nepal Gazette the revising the minimum wage for workers, in accordance with Section 106 of the Labor Act 2074 (2017 A.D.) ("Labor Act"). The revised minimum wage came into effect from July 17, 2025. The Nepali version of the notice can be accessed here.
The revised minimum remuneration for sectors excluding tea plantations is as follow:

The revised minimum remuneration applies to all sectors except tea plantations, for which the existing minimum remuneration remains unchanged. In addition to the newly set minimum wage, employers must also provide benefits as provided in the employment contracts/appointment letters along with the provident fund, gratuity, and other entitlements as per the Labor Act, the Contribution-Based Social Security Act 2074 (2017 A.D.), and other applicable laws.
The previous notice issued by the MOLESS regarding minimum wages for sectors excluding tea plantations (published in Nepal Gazette, Volume 73, No. 24, dated August 17, 2023 A.D.) has been repealed.
