Shirshak has experience of working in the area of mergers & acquisitions; aviation, banking and finance, corporate and commercial, trade and customs, telecommunication, media and technology (TMT), foreign investment, franchising, insurance and reinsurance, labor and employment, taxation, infrastructure development (including hydroelectricity, airport, roads and other private and public structures), intellectual property, competition law, non-profit entities, etc.
Shirshak has worked in various innovative, high profile and high value projects in the area of cross-border M&A, foreign investment, telecommunication and energy sectors. Shirshak worked on some of the most high-profile and the largest cross-border acquisition deal in Nepal.
In project and infrastructure development sectors, Shirshak works with various foreign contractors in high value transactions in relation to airport and other infrastructure development projects. Shirshak has been working in various hydroelectricity projects advising various project participants, including project sponsors, project companies, lenders, bilateral and multilateral agencies, contractors, suppliers, consultants, etc.
In aviation sector Shirshak handled matters relating to aircraft leasing and financing, service related contracts, etc. Shirshak also handled matters relating to air carriers' liability, insurance and reinsurance claims, management of accident liability claims, etc. and acted for numerous insurers and re-insurers in the management of accident liability claims for several fatal aviation accidents in Nepal.
Shirshak has been involved in commercial and aviation related litigation in the courts in Nepal. Shirshak has also been involved in commercial arbitration in Nepal at Nepal Council of Arbitration as well as internationally at Singapore International Arbitration Center.
Shirshak has advised various clients on matters pertaining to income tax, customs tariff, excise, Value Added Tax, cross-border transactions including international trade law and law on double taxation. Shirshak has advised various clients on monetary policy, governance of banking and financial entities, foreign exchange regulations. Shirshak has worked in several intellectual property infringement matters along with litigation on behalf of world renowned brand owners.
Shirshak also brings in experience in general management, client engagement, government liaison, engaging with in-house counsels and of-counsels.
