Nepal Rastra Bank's Notice Relating to Foreign Payment System

Nepal Rastra Bank ("NRB") published a notice relating to foreign payment system on 2076/02/06 (May 20, 2019) on its website.
The notice states that the use of a QR Code, POS Machine or other Payment System (such as WeChat Pay, Alipay, POS Machine/System, etc), which are directly linked with foreign payment operators/systems, other than those authorized by NRB, is illegal. The notice further states that, conducting such transaction will result in misuse of foreign exchange and action shall be taken in accordance with the Foreign Exchange (Regulation) Act 2019 (1962) and prevailing laws against anyone carrying out such transaction.
