This notice has been issued as per Rule 22 of the National Publication Regulations, 1995.

Schedule 5(b) (6) has been replaced by the following:
“(6): To broadcast in television through the means of cable, NPR1,000,000 .
Provided, broadcasters who have not yet obtained license for broadcasting throughout Nepal through the means of cable shall, within a year of the enforcement of this Rule, after paying additional license fee, update their broadcasting license to enable broadcasting throughout Nepal. ”

Schedule 5(b) (7) has been replaced by the following:
“(7) To distribute digital signal to other licensees through the means of cable based on digital technology by establishing digital head-end, and to distribute programs to customers through cable throughout Nepal regardless of the number of channels, NPR10,000,000.”

Illustration (2) to Schedule 5(b) has been replaced as follows:
“(2) Cable operators who, after establishing local distribution system have paid fees to operate to analog system under Part (1) shall not be required to pay fees prescribed in Part (7) herein to shift to digital system.”

At the end of Schedule 5(b) after Illustration (2) the following Illustration (3) has been added:
“(3) Persons or entities having distributed signal based on analog technology shall not be required to pay fees prescribed in Part (7) herein to obtain and broadcast through the means of cable signal from persons or entities licensed under Sub-rule (1)(a)”
